Pattaya (near islands)

General Info

“Near islands” of Pattaya refer to 4 small islands near the coast of Pattaya, which take about 40-60 minutes from the mainland.
The largest island of these is Koh Larn, which is the only island that has accommodation. Suitable for both scuba diving and snorkeling, and it is one of the sites where diving instructors often bring students to practice their skills.

Interesting Marine Animals

Coral reefs here are moderately healthy. Sea turtles can often be found. Other sea creatures include pufferfish, cuttlefish, seahorses, clownfish, stingrays, flounder, noble volutes, etc

Koh Larn : Popular diving spots are in the south, such as Nuan Beach and South Point, as well as on the west coast of the island, such as Laem Tong. Marine creatures here include seahorses, clownfish, stingrays, sea turtles and pink sea fans.

Koh Sak : Dive sites are located on the west and east of the island. The water is often calm enough for beginner divers. You may find a ghost pipefish. The east coast is a good spot for seeing sea turtles.

Koh Krok : The outstanding diving spot is on the west coast, stretches from north to south. It is one of the islands of Pattaya that has the highest record of seeing sea turtles. The current is stronger than Koh Sak.

Koh Nok : This small island is located in the north of Koh Sak. It’s rarely visited, but has coral reefs along the west and south coast. If lucky, you might find bamboo sharks among coral reefs.

HTMS Kood Wreck: It was a warship that the Royal Thai Navy and the city of Pattaya decided to sink as an artificial reef in 2006. The maximum depth is 30 meters.

HTMS Mattapon Wreck: Located in the east of Koh Larn, it was sunk in 2012 to become an artificial reef. Maximum depth is 22 meters.
